Nether Edge festival, Sheffield
Salutations in song to one and all. On sunday afternoon, 16th September, as part of Sheffield's Nether Edge festival I shall be singing at Brincliffe House, which is on Osborne Road, S11 9BB.
The house became the first administrative headquarters for the NHS in Sheffield and it has now been taken over by a bunch of folk trying to build a model of communal living.
As well as celebrating the festival amongst the remaining trees of that leafy suburb, the concert will be a formal marker of the NHS's seventieth birthday.
So if you're passing come along and join in a few choruses.
Even if the songs have nowt superficially to do with the NHS they would not have existed without its presence in the land, seeing as it brought me successfully to birth and has sustained me and mine, through rough and smooth, ever since. And anyway It'll be nice to see you.
Bring your tonsils if you still have them. It kicks off about 4.30 till 6.00 pm.
Also playing will be Sharron Kraus, and a fab klezmer-ish trio! Best to all x
